I wonder if anyone can help me,my mouse touch pad on my laptop isn't working,i can't scroll etc without having to left click the touchpad.I know it's a synaptics PS/2 Port Pointing device. If i go to device manager and select pointer,it then takes me to the pointer menu,if i then uninstall the driver and restart the laptop, the pointer works properly. But then the next time i use the laptop it doesn't work again?? surely i don't have to uninstall this driver everytime??. The other weird thing is when my son uses his file on this comp he has no problems with the pointer.

Any help would be much appreciated .

You should be able to go into Device manager and select Properties and then Reinstall driver or roll back driver. If you updated your system Roll back should help. If you have not updated do so before trying other fixes.

If you have malware proggy of some sort check the log to see if you have a false positive on the discovery. Either disable or make an exception rule so it won't remove it. You need to be the administrator of the system to make changes permanent.
