What do you think about putting a Betta in a 210G with 3 Angels, 3 Pictus Cat, and a Pleco? Id kind of like to shut down some of my smaler tanks but dont know what to do with him.

It's possible..... the angels may nip at him or vise-versa. If you try it just make sure to watch him for about an hour afterward to make sure everyone plays nice.

You might also have to watch out for the pictus cats going after your betta if the cats are much larger. Otherwise, I think a betta would love a tank that size.

I moved him in this morning. So far so good. All the other fish came by and kind of took a look at at him and that was it. Now about 4 hours later it looks like he is setteling in. I have yet to see him puff up Betta style so I think things might go ok.

IVe always wondered how a betta would behave in a larger tank such as that. Does he stay in a general area(maybe close to something he likes like a rock or piece of driftwood) or does he swim freely all over the tank. Maybe a dumb question but i have never seen a betta in over 5 gallons. I would think the would like all that extra room though.

If you don't mind, keep us updated on the progress, I'm curious too. I have considered moving my betta to my 180 gallon, but the betta took a good week to get used to an ADF I put in his 10 gallon. I'm not sure how he would handle all the other fish, but I don't think there are any that would specifically cause a problem either (hmm, I take that back, I do have 2 fancy guppys in the tank, orange tails)

Betta Update

He has been in there now for two days and seems to be adjusting well. He kind of goes off and does his own thing in the tank. The back of my tank is planted with taller plants and there are two large drift wood structures at each end. The Betta tends to stay in the back around the plants.

At feeding time he has been comming up and getting his food after it clears the surface and starts drifting down. (Usually Bloodworms) Getting him food was my biggest concern since I have 3 Angels and a Three Spot Gourami that patrol the surface like sharks at feeding time. Wasnt sure he would be aggressive enough to go up there and get it. So far so good.

Thus far no aggressive behaviour out of any of any fish in the tank.
