From Widkipedia: Rickets is a softening of bones in children potentially leading to fractures and deformity. Rickets is among the most frequent childhood diseases in many developing countries.
I suppose more calcium in the diet would be your recommendation? I tried looking up rickets and discus and came up with nothing quickly.
No marlboro, just some young Pigeon Bloods, unless I got cheated when I made my purchase! :mad2:
4 of the little orange/red ones are supposed to be pigeon bloods, and the other is a yellow melon.
I am curious why you think rickets, and what treatment you would pursue.
Nice tank & fish! All I saw was some "peppering" maybe thats what it means? Not a big deal AFAIK, pigeon based + dark background, substrate = dark "freckles". I see discus_lover is from India, I've seen some different terms on forums.
I have 2 smaller discus that aren't growing nearly as fast as others. From all I read it's not unusual. I'm deworming them all just in case but I'll love them even if they stay smaller.
since i am from india, here that disease call ricket.yes whatever bigwave say is absolutely true.i think that discus may not eat like the others, so that die to lack of proper diet it suffers with this disease.so i may say that keep that discus in a hospital tank, provide proper treatment and when it will OK move it into your main tank....
