Move to new tank-advice needed

I think more of the bacteria live on the substrate than people will admit. There is a big misconception that most of your bacteria is in the filter. If you don't use the old gravel, do as suggeted and hang some bags of it in the new tank.

If you are using all of it, I would go heavy on the gravel vacs for a couple of times to diminish bringing any crud over.

What about your old tank? Getting rid of it or setting it up for something else?

I put a bowlful of old gravel in, as well as using the filter from the 20G. So far so good except the death of my female gourami who already had problems. I think the stress of being netted and moved was just too much. But my #s are good and the other fish look VERY happy in their new home. Thanks.
