moved my betta in the community tank

You are right about not all bettas being alike and some getting along fine with a certain fish, while most wont.....but for me I'd rather not have to worry if I have a nice betta or an aggressive one.....because they can get along fine when you first introduce them..and then a week later, after they get adjusted and feel safe and secure in their new home......just when you let your guard down....WHAM....someone gets it....lol...

I don't like that kind of stress..... ;)

True.
I was just putting my 2 cents in.
I wouldn't recommend anyone to do something like that that's too stressful for them. I also wouldn't want to give false information in saying that all bettas will kill guppies, when infact, thats not the case. That statement can be discouraging to some fishkeepers.

bettas all have different personalities. good to know you kept observing and made a good decision. mine does fine with the molly i have, but my tank seems pretty aggressive. it did chase occasionally the molly i had that died, because it gave in to the chase. others held their own.

i have to say, i would probably observe a betta with any fish, and remove immediatly if there was problems, but i would be leary about guppies. their fins attract bettas.

but you got it under control.
