Movies that make you cry...

I don't ever remember being a cryer when I was a kid.......in fact...I didn't cry at much back then.

But as I got older and learned more and experienced more....now I'm a blithering idiot at just about anything ! To top if off......I HATE crying in front of ANYBODY...even my own family. So when a sob story movie is on I have to get up and go in the john once in awhile to blow my nose...and wash my face, get presentable and hope nobody notices........

It just feels so dumb to me to sit there and blither at a movie....especially when that movie is a cartoon !! (which sometimes happens LOL !)

I don't know if growing up in a family of 8 has anything to do with not wanting to cry in public or not.....you got funny looks if you cried

In fact I cry at tv show as well.

I've had this happen to me too. In fact I just watched every episode of Lost this past weekend. I got so into it!!

I just thought of another movie which I love and made me cry, especially at the when Guido and his son go over the speakers to talk to Dora. Also, how he protects his son by playing games with him. So sweet, what a great movie!!

**Edit** thought I should add what movie I am talking about...Its a Beautiful Life.

Does this count?

When I see that the following movies are getting ready to come on TV I cry just a little bit, mostly because I know even with 3 tvs in the house somehow i'm going to end up seeing some of them.

Its a Wonderful Life
The Wizard of OZ
Willy Wonka

That part in Citys of Angels where she gets creamed was the best part of the movie!
I laughed for years just thinking about how Cage was stuck being human all because of some chick. There was a deeper meaning then love to that movie.

It was never give up anything for anyone.

Pay It Forward
The Cure
Always Remeber I Love You
Forrest Gump
October Sky
Frequency
A Time to Kill
The Green Mile
The Shawshank Redemption
With Honors <- the worst of all, I've seen it many times but still...

'Brave Heart' and 'Passion of the Christ' did it for me. Not really cried per say, but they made my eyes tear up a bit and put a lump in my throat.(very emotional movies)
There are a couple of others but can't think of them at the moment.

tricksterpup the movie that got me all choked up was Saving Private Ryan. It reminded me of what my father went through during WW2. Very powerful movie and it is a Guy flick as well. [/QUOTE said:
Wow, that got me crying right now. The part when Ryan says to tell his mom he was with the only brothers he had left. and the end when he's with his family.

Our family has a bit of military history as well, right now we are loosong my uncle who served in Nam to cancer, complicated by an AO exposure.

Hell I cried a lot during the band of brother series.

The ending is where it hit me, its the same graveyard where my older brother is buried and where Ryan as an older man breaks down.

there have been a couple movies i laughed soo hard tears came out of my eyeballs.eg Along Came Polly...when they're playing basketball and Sasquach aka bigfoot the big hairy dude and Ben Stiller run into each other.
