Moving a large pleco

touch your finger tips together and your thumb-tips together to make an O. Glide your hands past is face, grab him up like that, holding down his fins. The net and tub methods failed when trying to catch my 16" pleco. My dad wore fresh clean gloves and just dove in after him...I wasn't goin after him. No way. He was a beast!

lol...where's my scuba gear. ;o)

Just about ready to make the move. Got the tank cleaned up yesterday and did the stress test. As of this morning...still tippy top with water. Looks good to go.

Goodluck!!

I personally am afraid of getting my hand ripped up by my BN's bristles...i know..they're tiny...lol...but i seen em fight it out, i dont want my fingers caught in the middle. lol

I will try out the mentioned methods later on today as well! cant wait. i might then be able to get a half decent pic of my plecs to share with AC :D

Meh.. dont worry about Bristlenose. They do have spikes, they are just in front of their pectoral fins (each side of the head) They're small, but actually quite nasty little weapons. They will tangle in a net every time.

But just grab them and you will be OK

Yeah i always have that problem getting them out of the tank, i'd looked it up in advance before moving them the first time so i knew not to be too rough trying to get them back out the net once they'd entwined themselves.
