i am moving in a couple of months and need to move my entire tank. what is the best way to do this i have no idea where to even start?

Moving a tank is tough. The larger the tank the harder it is. I moved a 37 and what I did was drained all water into 5 gal buckets separated the fish in another bucket.
You have a CC bottom or sand?
CC was easy to move but I don't know about sand. I changed my bottom to LS and LR over a year ago and I dread having to move that. I may have to just leave the whole setup. But if yours is CC you shouldn't have too many problems.

The lfs moved my 55 for me. He put all the lr in styrofoam containers. Fish in a bucket and most of the water in 2 1/2 gl. jugs. He left just enough water to keep the ls covered. All I did was watch and pay. Actually, I thought it was pretty cheap. I took all the hardware out of course. He tore the rest of the tank down in about 45 min. drove it over to the new house which is about 8 miles and set it back up for me. All total $63.00 All together it was about 1 1/2hrs.

it is CC with one bag of LS. the LFS want move it because it isn't covered on their insurance and the onlyh other people that will do it is a bunch of teenagers who are about 16 and said that they dont move it they just tear it apart we take it where it needs to be and they meet us and set it back up
