Moving Bamboo Shrimp after molting?

sounds like he's not getting enough calcium in his normal diet. I find it hard to keep my bamboos as well fed as I'd like, especially knowing that their preferred foot is baby brine shrimp and daphnia... crushing crab pellets into powder and getting it into the water flow might help him recover after a moult. I often supplement their diet with spirulina powder and crushed blood worm in the water stream, but it really doesn't do what first day hatch brine shrimp do.. they go nuts.

I only say this because, mine never eat anything off the substrate, or their shells. They strictly filter.

Thats odd because mine acted like he didnt want anything to do with brine shrimp. He actually seems to like crushed flake food more than anything else. I tried one brand(Hikari i think?) of crab food and he didnt seem to like it very much, but he does seem to like HBH Crab & Lobster bites. It sucks about the brine shrimp though. I set up a hatchery just for him, and it turns out hes the only Bamboo Shrimp on earth that doesnt like it:swear:

Hes always eaten his shell. They do it in the wild for a quick boost of calcium to help regrow their new shells as strong as possible, but they might not do it on some tanks where they have an abundance of calcium. Mine has never shown any defencies and hasnt shrunk any at all, and the fact that hes almost a year older than theyre average life extectancy makes me think hes pretty healthy. Im always up for suggestions on making him even more healthy though:thm:

http://www.aquariacentral.com/forum...r-snail-food&p=1217816&viewfull=1#post1217816 I know it says that it's for snails, but it should work for shrimp too. (as it did for me)

Bamboo shrimp are filter feeders so i dont think those foods will work. Besides, my Boesemani Rainbow would destroy that stuff long before the shrimp would even know its there lol :silly:
