Can you move fish hundreds of miles or will they die? I don't know if I will be moving soon but I will in the future I know that. I didn't know if they would get stressed out a lot and die or if they could actually make it hundreds of miles out of their aquarium. PLEASE let me know!

I have 1 blue gourmi
2 mollies
2 mickey mouse platys
2 guppies
2 bettas

P.S. I know that I could give them to my locol Petsmart if they can't be moved.

I would bring the fish to the tank. Try to set up a rubber maid container in the car somewhere. Then you can use an 12v inverter to power a filter and heater. With daily water changes it should work out. You can even put a lid on it, to keep the water from splashing. Also try to cover the tank in a blanket. This will keep it warm and dark. The darkness helps reduce stress.

I just completed my second move with my tanks. Everything went well both times. I divide my fish up into rubbermaid tubs with about 50/50 tank water and fresh water, put the lids on and go. Make sure to keep your filter media wet.... what I do is clean my sponges and put them right in with the fish. A few plants in each tub helps keep their stress levels down too.

Unless you are driving a very long distance, heat and filtration won't be needed in the tubs. They do just fine for 24 hours provided you give them enough water to start with. After 24 hours a water change is a good idea.
