So I'm upgrading from a 10gal to a 25.
Question is: what is the best way to move my apple snail over? I don't want to pull him off of the glass for fear of hurting him...I know at the pet stores they just pull the snails off, but this seems sketchy to me. Is there a technique of getting them off the glass without harming him? Or should I just be waiting until he is on the gravel and then move (if I see him there, I'll move him for sure)? Or lower the water line slowly in the old tank so he goes onto the gravel by himself?
Thanks for any input.

i would just drop the water line below him, makes them drop off all the time. I have gotten them off by gently touching their foot as well, they usually retract.

Yep, just poke 'em a bit and they'll withdraw back into their shells. Then you can make the transfer.

Thanks for the advice! He made the move just fine.
I poked him gently and he seemed pretty unphased, but when I lowered the water level and then poked him, he kind of slide down the glass. So I repeated this and he eventually went onto the gravel.
Right now he is munching on snail jello and seems content!
Thanks again, I get really worried about stressing him out.
