Because of a recent divorce I have moved about 20 miles away and took the 5 fish tanks with me. The kids and I moved one tank a day the week before the movers came. We only lost two fish from the ordeal and didn't have to recycle any tanks. Here's what we did:
Put the fish in one bucket with freshly Primed water
Put the filter floss media in a bucket with tank water
Took a small bucket full of dirty gravel
rinsed out all the rest of the gravel
hosed out the tank
Setting back up was a breeze thanks to Python or any other "water changer." Put the clean gravel back in and mixed with the dirty gravel, and put the dirty filter floss back in the filter, the rest of the plants and decor, then introduced the fish. Worked like a charm.
I'd almost go into business moving tanks but I suppose moving a 150 gallon may be more challenging than the 29s and 38 that I moved, lol.
Just thought I'd share just in case someone else is moving.
