Moving & transferring fish

holy crap, that's a lot of fish going over in subsequent issues, considering that "standard" practice is adding in one fish once a week or less frequently. You don't think that would be a huge load? The tank is big, buf he's got some big fish in there.

Thanks for all of the great advice, but it looks like I may have to tear it back down again. One of our lines were to low in the tank and we were having a little trouble with the sump so I unplugged it last night. Let's just say we had a pool for a few hours...about 110 gallons!

I don't know if this is going to rot out the floor, so I'm thinking about draining the 265 and having someone replace the floor?

wow, sorry to hear that.

110g is a lot of water. I'd be in a panic. Hopefully it gets cleaned up and someone with more knowledge on the floor can help out. I'd be anal and replace it no matter what anyone said because I know nothing of the subject but know 265g of water along with everything else is a lot of weight lol.

Correct, its 110gallons ;)

Seriously....wow...i am sure a tank drain is one of the worst things reef keepers dread......

Hard to say if its a problem. May not be. Got a picture? Can the floor dry from the top and bottom? What kind of floor is it exactly? Remember salt is a preservative so it is likely less of a problem than a big freshwater leak. Did the water all drain away?

If it is a wood surface floor it will react soon if it's going to.

Hi Mandy 10% of that lot is a LOT of fish, I agree, but then we are talking about a 250 gals!

The floor is hardwood..no carpet. It is completely dry around the tank and I cleaned up inside the stand. I have no idea what it looks like underneath the tank being that it is 84x24 and still 2/3 full of water.

I may just go under the house with some concrete blocks & wood wedges...just incase it falls through :headshake2:

few years back( this was when i was a newbie) whenever i did freshwater water change i used to spill water everywhere around it and few months later the wood floor was really in bad condition, they had to repaint the roof of 2nd floor.
