Your Mr. G. couldn't have had a better home. Eight years is quite an age for a gourami! You and your daughter should be proud to have accomplished such a feat--as should Mr. G!!! I am sorry...you guys will miss him, but you gave him one heck of a run.
 
I put him in the freezer so we can actually have a proper burial when the ground's not frozen solid.

I have to say that is awesome and I would so do that! Mr. G. deserves the whole 9 with all the bells and whistles!

8 years for a gourami! You should be proud that u can care for him that much. Sorry to hear your lost. RIP mr.G.
