MTS ban in texas?

okay so i was at my lfs today and asked about buying or just taking some MTS that they had in some of their planted tanks and the guy helping me tells me that there is a current "Government ban" on them. i was just wondering if this was true as i cant seem to find it anywhere on the net.

Interesting. Maybe someone more local has news about it...I have heard certain things about permits and restricting snails to in-state shipping and stuff like that but a complete ban? Weird.

i thought it was weird also, but then thought about certain small firecraker bans and realized a small scale snail ban probably isnt any different.

I live in Houston, Texas. I never see LFS sell MTS, so I bought mines on aquabid.

Mine just came in with some plants. I've got plenty. Although I don't exactly keep up, I haven't heard of a Texas ban on anything.

I'll ask at the LFS though. They keep up pretty well...
