ok i got some mts the other day. and, they barely ever go into the sand like they are supposed to. they poop alot. everything is covered in their poop. but what really pissed me off was when they decided to eat the endler i put in that tank. i found him shreaded, barely even recognisable. so i caught my koolie loach from my other tank and put it in there, in hopes that he will eat them. its a sand bottom tank, thats why i got the mts. but are they really neccessary?

I don't think a snail is able to catch and kill an ender, the fish died first. Second, Kuhli loaches don't eat snails, they don't have the jaw shape for it. You probably stressed him out by taking him form his group and putting him in a new tank.

I agree the snails would not attack and kill the fish even if they could catch it. With the amount of poo you are taking about it would have to be A LOT of MTS and if I remember correctly from another thread you don't really have that many.

ive got i think 30 fully adult snails.
and if i get rid of them how often will i need to stir it, or will the multies stir it themselfs? also can i put a dojo loach in there for a few days to clean them out?

Multies will move the sand around a lot on their own. And I agree, your endler died first, the snails were only cleaning up the mess......move your kuhli loach back to its tank and pick them out manually if you don't want them, NO FISH TO REMOVE SNAILS. Using veggies as bait works well.

30 mts shouldn't make make much of a mess at all, I've got a lot more than that. I also agree with everyone else that there is absolutely no way a mts could take down any healthy fish.

And no, dojos don't eat mts. Even loaches that do eat snails have trouble with mts because of the super hard shells. Plus if your tank temp is high enough foir a kuhli, it's waaay to hot for a dojo.

ill just put them in a jar until i decide what to do. i think they are already reproducing. what should i do to rid myself of any of the babies???
