I haven't seen many acara, and none of any size. Looks a lot like a washed-out gold saum, which is not necessarily a bad thing if they stay smaller and are less temperamental? I'll have to look into them as a possible addition to my tanks.

yeh thats what i thought too but it has yellow around the fins instead of orange!
do u think the petshop could've stuffed up?
if they did i don't mind tho cos i wanted a gold saum..

I'd consider returning the GT or you will need to upgrade your tank. Also a 4ft/18" is the minimum size tank for one adult oscar on his own.
