I ordered some of the indian mudskippers.
I am unsure how to go about acclimating them to my water or if there is even a need to?

if the mudskippers come in fresh than every other day add one or 2 salinity to the water like fresh water is 1.000 so first day have him in that second day add some salt and make it to 1.002 then so on and so on until you get to the right sg. thats the complicated way. i just threw mine in the tank when it was at 1.003 than got it up to 1.005. hope i helped 
Mine were in fresh water when I got them so each day I added a little more marine salt (already dissolved in some declorinated water) until it reached 1.004. Now when I do water changes I just do the salt in the water I am going to use as new water and match the salinity.
wow i didnt know that you have to have salt in the water for the mud skipper (i dont have one so) thats very neat im in love with them tho thinking about it but not quite sure.
