I'm thinking about setting up a brackish paludarium for mudskippers. I sense this may not be the easiest first fish-keeping project, so I'm doing a lot of research first. Having said that books on brackish fish seem a bit thin on the ground, so I'd be grateful for any suggestions...

My Atlantic mudskipper is a very fun fish. I started off with a 40 breeder tank, then upgraded to a 75. The water level is filled about 4" down from the top. She is housed with mollies, bumblebee gobies, a violet goby, and a green-spotted puffer. I keep my SG at about 1.010-1.012. I have a floating dock for her. I tried fiddler crabs with her at first, but as she got bigger she really tore them apart and ate them. I feed the tank frozen bloodworms, mysis, brine shrimp, and a community mix, and also freeze-dried krill for the mudskipper, which she really likes. Make sure you have a well-fitting top - these things can jump. Mine jumped out of the water and bit my finger one day when I was feeding, about 5" straight out of the water, not off a platform. I've seen her launch up to about a foot of distance coming off the platform, they are goofy fish. For substrate I have mostly sand with some crushed coral mixed in. I think she also eats molly fry because I never see any in the tank. I've had my skipper for almost 2 years now, she's about 6-7" long now. Indians stay smaller. If you have any other questions just ask. :)

Oh yeah and welcome to AC...I didn't realize which forum this was in, but you may want to post the question in the brackish forum, it would get more views there.
