Guys, I have been out of the hobby for a while, (space, moving, money, and the other general woes)
and am now looking to set up a small fish room (still on the economy model) in my basement. I'm thinking about a 4-8ft 3 tiered rack of 10 gallon and 20 gallon longs with four foot shop lights and individual heaters.
Since I will likely try to breed some (I have bred live bearers and cichlids) some tanks will have sponge filters. Since I will be using some sponge already I'm now considering buying a large air pump, hard plumbing air in with pvc, and using air driven sponge filters for all the tanks.
I know it can be done and have heard of some breeders using a similar setup. Is anyone here using (or have experience with)a similar setup? I'm trying to gather all the info I can to save as much grief as possible on the learning curve!
