Multie Parenting Behavior

Thanks for all of the replies. I may add a couple of extra shells, but for the most part, it will be what it will be. I'm sure I'll wind up wit plenty of fry either way. I'm still learning too!

I've never seen any of my females chase older fry, though I've seen an Introduced male (Bigger then any in the tank) wipe out an entire run of fry (about 50 fry in 2 days).:swear:

Well apparently it seems that both parents are the culprits. My wife spotted them today going after the older brood, basically killing a few more. This seems to totally contradict everything I've read about them. The question is why? If they wipe out the first goup, I'll be interested to see what happen to the newborns when another group comes along.

The only thing i have witness is an adult may chase a sibling that is full grown away but not too overly aggressive.. Is anything else in the tank with them..

Possibly so and then i could understand the aggression

The male has broken bands where the rest have solid bands, I suspect he is from an entirely different location.

Mine appear identical so I'm not sure what you mean as it applies to me.
