Ok, let me try to explain this as succinctly as possilble...I have a 30g setup and 20g setup on the same metal stand. I want to eliminate the 20g tank on the bottom to make room for a chiller, which I have, and a future 10g sump that I also have the tank for. The 40lbs of sand plus 40lbs of new sand and 30 lbs of live rock I want to put into a 56gTall that I want to start reseeding 60 lbs of dead rock to get ready to cycle into a new setup. When the time is right I will be shuffling critters around in all 3 of my tanks. Finally my questions:
1) How long should I expect for the reseeding to progress so that I could start a cycle?
2)Will ammonia source cycling speed up the bacterial reseeding process?
3)Also, in the 20g I will be eliminating I have 3 damsel fish and a rather large red legged hermit. How long should I expect them to live heathily in a bare QT like tank with objects to hide around/in?
