A while back I saw someone who said you could use this stand/shelf to hold multiple tanks. That would really be helpful as I either need to tear some down or consolidate to make space soon.

Would it be possible for this stand to hold:
2x 20 gallon longs
1x 10 gallon
1x 10 or 15 gallon

Would this put too much pressure on the floor? I'd be putting it in the place where my 55 gallon currently stands. I'm sure worried because it's 4 feet of distributed weight verse 3 feet.

Also, would I need to put down something under the tanks to stabilize them, something like styrofoam or wood?

You would just need to read the box to determine how much weight it can handle. They normally say that the weight needs to be evenly distributed between all shelves. Personally, I'd go with some of the heavy duty shelving found at Home Depot or Lowes, the ones that can handled hundreds or thousands of pounds.

yes and no. your only going to be able to get 3 tanks on the self.... i put sytrofoam under each tank.

I have similar ones with lots of tanks...no issues.

Thanks, that's exactly what I was asking... although I realized it wouldn't work. My solution: get rid of my bed. I don't need to actually sleep in my room, right? :D

But I'll keep those in mind for later.

Nice set up Mgamer20o0. Someday I hope to have my own house and something similar!
