Mummified sea monster for sale on EBAY

i did not see where he claimed it was real. I saw where is said it was 100% fish skin. somewhere there is a gorrilla with dentures

I'd like to think it's real (cause that's one mean looking fish), but one thing that really leads me to believe it isn't, is the sfact that on one of his other auctions, he has an octupus with a head of what seems to be a replica of a small human skull...

Oh yeah, and he found it on the beach as well.


I mean, OK.. Maybe, just maybe, if he found 1 really wierd fih on the shore, it could be credible, but finding two totally far out and never before seen fish, on the shore of a beach??? don't know about that one. . .

He admitted in the auction that it was a taxidermy work by himself.....the 'found it on the beach' bit was schtick.
 
Actually...he did not say anywhere that it was fake....he said it had been treated to get rid of the smell...nothing about it being fake. The whole write up is very misleading IMO.....

Afterwards I decided to take it home with me. I measured this cryptid creature at 20 inches long. I decided to list this weird & wonderfull fish on ebay to share it with the world. I guarantee that this creatures flesh, teeth, jaw and skull are REAL 100% once living, organic flesh and bones. Though mummified, this unknown species of fish has been cleaned and treated with taxidermy chemicals to preserve and reduce any fish odor to a mininum.

The front head part with teeth is actually quite "realistic" looking. IMO the body, not only being too short in proportion to lend to the realism (and adds to the spoof factor) also looks like it was created with papier mache. But then, what do I know about taxidermy? LOL Still a good funny. And, as John Ringling always said, "There's a sucker born every minute"!!

He did not...and likely neither did P.T. Barnum, although it is regularly attributed to him.

He admits to it outright in the auction comments lower on the page, and as much as admits to it in the auction, but admittedly there uses a dry wit that 99% of people would not catch.

Oh, excuse me; let me rephrase: "And, as I have often heard as having been said by John Ringling, 'There's a sucker born every minute.'"

Funny, the docents at Ca'd'zan usually include that in their patois. Guess they're off base, too. Oh darn, that's right, we're only human.
