Muriatic Acid

Dangerous stuff

I had some muratic acid stored in it's plastic jug inside a plastic bag on a metal shelf in the garage. It "sweated" through the plastic jug and bag, and ate up the metal shelf.

Be careful how you store it! don't leave it in hot places!

Yes, IME be careful with the stuff - it's really the old name for hydrochloric acid and I would advise having some baking soda at hand to neutralize any spilling - do not breathe in the vapor - this stuff can even blister your lungs if you a swift dosage. The efffects it has on pH (as far as i have been told) is that it has a short lasting effect on the pH level of water; it will lower it but will then rise a few hours later.
