Hi, I just wanted to check if my mushroom looks as it should. Its polyp are all fully extended all day and look good, occasionally they all dissapear for a few minutes and then come out again. However the shape of the coral is quite 'bunched' if that make sense its quite deep in the middle with all the sides ruffled around it. Does this sound normal?
As long as the polyps are extended, it sounds good. The shape can vary quite a bit, and they can be rather indented in the middle. Mine usually does it after it's disturbed, then "relaxes" over the course of a few days.
mine extends out with 1/2 green polyps.. 4"-5" flat across top of leather, 6" off the rock its on.
Then night comes, and it folds down into a little 2" booger looking thing. Then next day it's right back to lovin' life again.
same same day in and night out. looks a bit dif. each week as it grows.
