As anybody who follows this thread will know, I am a big Little Feat Fan. They were all considered to ne musicians musicians but Lowell was the force behind the band. But, imo, Bill Payne on piano is one of the greatest rock and roll piano players I have ever heard.

This Little Feat DVD continues our series of releases from the archives of legendary German TV series Rockpalast. Filmed at the Grugahalle in Essen in 1977, just a few days before the recording of their legendary live album "Waiting For Columbus", this DVD captures the classic seventies Little Feat line-up led by the late Lowell George at the very peak of their powers

Many, many thanks. Supercool! This fully makes up for the apparent scarcity of fish posts.

I am a huge fan of Traffic and that also means Winwood. But the other three vids are typical of contemporary music these days- it is too clean, to sterile in the sound. I lived through 78 rpm and no stereo. From tube to solid state etc. And the best sound O ever heard was frrom the old McIntish tube amps. Then tubes went away, Well, mac has brought them back,

My partner in the sound co from the 70s is now a very successful lawyer and can afford almost anything. He bought the new Mac tube amp whuch runs over $10k. The old tubes glowed and orange=red, the remakes glow green, It sounds great.

Listen to the Lowell song I posted and then any one of the next three. The Lowell songs are richer and fuller while the other three are just too clean for my tastes. All of the overtones and the subtle noise being removed has actually degraded the sound, imo.

Have a listen here- sorry old and informal and still great. Recorded in 1972.
