i read somewhere that the fatser the beat of the music the faster you drive (unintentionally ) ....how often do you see those troopers and how fast do you drive ,,,lol,

Not that fast...

I spend approximately 2.5-3 hours commuting each day.. it's more to stay awake and alert..

listening to something soothing and mellow really doesn't tend to help..

and I don't drive that fast.. maybe a touch over the limit.. I'm more likely to be pulled over for being on the phone..

I love your taste, Liz. Opeth is my favorite band...I've seen them live a couple of times and got to meet them and hang out with them after the show and on their tour bus. Agalloch is another fav of mine. I love the Mantle....great album.
Porcupine Tree....great musicians. Like a cross between Radiohead and Phish....kinda. They really are rather unique.
You should check out 'Daylight Dies' sometime. They're from Raleigh and are good friends of mine. They've done some work with Katatonia. http://www.daylight-dies.com/sitestart.html

I have a "mixtape" of burnt music by opeth that I have lost (No, I don't routinely burn cd's, just to sample before buying) and the only opeth cd I have is Damnation but I love their other, heavier stuff too. And The Mantle is the only agalloch cd I have. Right now I am working on expanding the diversity of my music collection before I focus on my favorite bands.

But I'm always adding bands down for future buying. I soon hope to get a few punk rock and emo cd's, and then I'll check out Daylight Dies, sure.

I'm winding down to some Sigur Ros right now...getting my chill on....yeah.

I like everything from showtunes to hip hop to country to southern rock...I even like opera if I'm there in person. :p:

My all time favorite band is Cheap Trick though. Along with Aerosmith, they are one of the must underated bands!
