I may be getting yet ANOTHER tank (4th one in a month) and this one also comes with fish. I'm trying to decide what fish will go where as well as which filters should go on which tanks.
I already have a 20g w/a Penguin 170 and a 29g with an AC70. I'm planning to pick up a 55g with 2 unknown filters. I'm told they're in working condition, but I may end up replacing one or both of these.
My 20g has a 4" silver dollar, a 4" angelfish, a 2.5" cory, and a 6" pleco (this is how I got the tank). My 29g is empty. The 55g comes with 2 silver dollars and a convict of unknown size. From what I've read, convicts and angelfish don't get along, and it doesn't look like the silver dollar and angelfish don't get along either.
My plan is to move everyone into the 29g except the convict, which I plan to give away. The 55g I'll leave for mbuna, and the 20g I'll sell/give away (I need the room!) Will the 29g be overcrowded? The only fish I'm really attached to is the angel who eats out of my fingers,
but it'd be nice if at least the silver dollars would get along. Do you think things will improve since they will be able to form a small school?
On to filters: it'd be nice to keep the Penguin 170 and move it to the 29g. I won't be turning the water over as much, but Marineland rates them up to 50g tanks. I'll probably buy another AC70 for the 55g and move my existing AC70 onto that tank as well. I also have a Whisper Power Filter 1 that's rated for 10-30 gallon tanks. I've never used it, but it came used with my 29g.
Any suggestions for my configuration? It's a whirlwind of activity, but I can't stop buying tanks!
