My 10 gallon aquarium

The cory catfish are the only ones not temporary, although I might move them to my 20 gallon. If I did that I would have to buy sand for it.
I wouldn’t do corys in a 10 gallon tank. They are quite an active fish and will need a 20 gallon or more.

I am going to put pea puffers in the ten gallon once it is cleared out. The cories are really small right now, Under 1 inch each. I will put them in the 20 gallon when they get to about 1.5-2.0 inches long.

So they’re temporary. Why did not you say so before? It got me all wondering..

Will corys do fine on gravel? It is rounded but kind of big.

Okay, thanks. I might as well move the cories today then. Any suggestions on low-tech plants for gravel for my 20 gallon?

The best low tech plants I can think of are almost any Cryptocoryne species, vallisneria, java fern, java moss and Anubias species. The val does require a bit more light IME. I've seen crypts and val take root in a half inch of sand in a holding tank they were put into for a few weeks.
