My 10g tank POPPED!

A few months ago, I purchased a 10 gallon for my daughter. We spent a few hours setting it up.
About three hours later, my daughter wakes my up ( around midnight) to tell me that the tank is "gushing water" from the bottom of the tank.
I run into her room, and attempt to carry the tank into the nearby bathroom. While doing so, I slip on the wet bathroom floor, falling on my backside, bumping my head on the floor, and the tank ended up crashing on my hand, breaking a bone in my hand, and giving me 7 stitches.

In addition.....I fractured my tailbone.

Yikes! Glad you were able to get everything saved--scary.

I have a paranoia for breaking glass, not even related to my tanks. I rolled a car when I was 17, and the breaking windows is the only thing I remember. I panic when I hear that sound.

And--I also have experienced the joys of wet tile--though I was carrying a coffee maker, not a tank. They couldn't find the bottom of the cut in the palm of my hand--but I only got 3 stitches, nothing broken. ;)

popped

At least you were home to catch it in time.I had 85 gal planted tank that sprung a seam on the bottom backside.Needless to say that I was on a weekend fishing trip when this all took place. It was really bogus to come home from a great weekend to dead fish, wilty plants and a swamp in my living room.Wish I was as lucky as you....LOL

A buddy of mine had a 150 that sprung a leak with 10 oscars and a 2 foot red tail cat. The tank was more or less his head board, it was really cool, but when he sprung a leak. Just to say, his bed room smelled like fish for about 3 months and none of the fish survived.
it was a very sad day.
