Buddy the ridiculous goldfish died a couple of months ago for no apparent reason. One evening he looked a little lethargic and the next morning he was floating. After surviving against such odds for so long it was a bit of a shock.

Dam that sucks. I had that about a year ago, 5 of my fish just up and died for no reason. Weird, you gonna get another goldie?
I dunno... they have an unfortunate habit of getting eaten 
. I'm trying to consolidate down to 2 large tanks (200, 600). Every now and then I have a feeder that survives a few weeks, but they get picked on so badly that it just seems unfair. If someone close to me winds up giving away a relatively large, but still relatively young goldie, I might consider it. I like huge fat garbageguts goldfish

Cool. They seem quite misshapen. I thought they were weird hybrids at first - I got them for free because they were so ugly as juvies - like a creamy yellow mottled color with this weird body. Now they are quite colorful though.
Well it took me 2 hrs of steady plugging away but wow! Its an amazing creation and the fish that the tank houses are sweet. I love BGKs and had a few over the years, very fun to watch. Looking forward to following the 600g build. Nicely done.
So interesting to go back and read through this nearly 5 years later. I have this tank dismantled right now in my living room, going to be doing some modifications, refurbishing and refinishing!
