OK, sorry. GF's birthday party tonight, so I couldn't really comment. only had time to dump the pics and go! I finished up the moldings on the cabinet doors, and mounted one of the door up with some inset hinges. I also setup my sump and gave it a test run. I think it's leaking a bit, but that's ok, it's gonna get another full coat of epoxy before it goes into service. I hope the brass hinges hold up to the moist environment!
I routed the plumbing through the holes in the top of the stand to make sure it'd fit OK. I dicked around with the overflow a whole bunch to try to make it quiet.... the noisiest part of it now is the water and bubbles running down the accordion tube into the sump. I can make it quiet by putting a big fat restriction in the bottom of the tube near the sump, so it completely fills with water, right up to the overflow. This is a bit sketch though, because any blockage will cause the overflow to backup and the tank itself to overflow. I think that when it's installed in the niche in the wall, the noise from the plumbing will be 99% masked.
I also installed knobs on the cabinet doors. Yay! I can't decide whether or not to stain the moldlings and knobs walnut like the rest of it, or leave it light for accent purposes. hrmmmmmmm..
I also attempted to take a close up shot of my glass... I think I scratched it installing it

. Anyone know a way to hide/fill/plosh/repair scratches in regular plate glass??
