Alright, more photos. I'm really glad I took on this project now... it was relatively expensive as my projects go, but now that the initial spending is over, I can get hours of entertain ment each day decorating, cleaning, and most of all watching my fish interact. I made the mistake of buying some nocturnal fish, so now I'm up in the middle of the night trying to watch the tank. The BGK I think will come out of his shyness a bit. I've gotten him to eat by putting bloodworms in a small glass, and sticking the glass next to his hiding spot. Everyone else in the tank is too dumb to figure out how to get into the glass and eat them before he does.
Buddy the goldfish (don't ask, he was brought home by my stepdaughter in a bowl a few months ago). Has shown amazing capacity to both eat and grow. I swear he's put on 30% of his size in the last WEEK. He was the size of a guppy when I finally yoinked him from her room a month or so ago and started taking care of him... now he's over 3" long.
The L052 is VERY shy, but he's neat to watch when he comes out of hiding. He tends to come out around feeding time, because buddy winds up chasing food into his hiding spot and pissing him off. He then ricochets around the tank for a while before realising it's feeding time, or else takes shelter under the larger pleco.
The big sailfin is an awesome fish. I could not have asked for a more active plec. He never stops moving - he even begs for food! He's got a bit of a thing about being the CENTER of the tank though... I don't mind, but it does look funny when a large spotted sucker face is stuck to the middle of the glass.
I brought home some mollies today... I'm hoping they will spawn and provide some mini feeders for the knife to hunt at night. They will ultimately wind up as food for someone I'm sure... in the mean time, they (besides buddy) are the only non-nocturnal fish in there, so they are something to watch at least.
Anyways on witht he pics... tank is dirty right now because we just had a SERIOUS feeding session... the parge plec stirred up a lot of debris, and caused a poor cana snail some serious grief - the snail tried to clam up but he had a shirmp pellet stuck in his trap door the pleco wanted. VERY entertaining.
