My 185gal build in progress (lots of pics)

The loaches do look good in there ... so when are you planning on adding the caves?

Well I've been so engrossed in the fish in the tank for the last week that I ahven't finished the caves. I will resume work on the caves probably tonight.,.. the ol' lady is at school till 10pm or so, so I'll have some time to fill.

Update on the bio-spira cycle... no nitrate yet tonight (that I can tell, I'm not sure about these test strips - I'm sure they work, it's just hard to match the colors). However, the tank is very noticeably clearer tonight than it was last night, so I'm taking that to mean the bacteria have stopped blooming in the water, which I'm guessing must mean they have settled.

Cool....snail must like the pleco.

looks very nice.

congrats!

i dont think i'd have the patience (and certainly not the skill) to get this accomplished, i'm very impressed.

most impressed thank you once again in sharing your project

Looking good. Regarding your plants, try to separate the individual stems and plant them in groupings with the stems about 1" apart in the gravel giving each stem plenty of room to grow. Leaving them together like that encourages the bases of the stems to rot. It would look much more natural as well.

Thanks! I will have to do that next time I feel like swimming in the tank! ;) some of the plants have really grown surprisinly and will need some spreading out anyways. *sigh* I'm sure I will regret my choice to make the tank 3' deep while doing that :p
