You get the Herzog AND Ozu references? And you like dwarf shrimp? How old are you? Are you my long lost twin? Maybe... But were you born in Late Spring as I was?>
So my tank-raised pygmy cory have been dying one-by-one. I have 2 left, out of the original 10. I can't figure out why, but I think they were likely raised in really soft water, and the change to my moderately hard water has done them in. I picked up 6 farmed pygmy cory from my LFS, and sure enough, they're thriving.
I also picked up 5 ember tetras. I love how they work with my CPD's. Also 2 Amano shrimp + I've been tossing my not-very-blue blue pearl shrimps in here, to try to improve color in my shrimp tank (which is thriving!). My Norman's lampeyes should come in next week, thus completing my stocking. Lots of new pics and maybe a vid to come in a week or so. If all goes according to plan, I'll pick up my new 36 bowfront tomorrow--but that's another thread
So sorry about your tank-raised pygmies - I know you were so happy to find them! I'm down to 6 habrosus myself, debating about changing my substrate to Eco-complete.
I have to ... You got your ember tetras! And no neons. funny how things work out. I look forward to pics & vids!
Thanks. Yeah, it's unfortunate. They were very healthy, I acclimated them slowly, and my tank parameters are within their general tolerance, but I guess the change was just too big.
Yep! The embers... Everything in my tank is silvers, reds and golds, so the embers just fit so nicely. They were a slight impulse buy... But I like them Same with the 2 Amanos! Cool little creatures!
Plus, it will be neat that the Normani's eyes will be the only blue in the tank!
They are not shy about taking food But the cory will sit near by and eat what drifts away from the shrimp! I once saw an Amano eating an algae wafer on the aponogeton.. The cory hung out several inches below, and small bits of food rolled down the corkscrew!
