I'm posting pics of my 29g planted to be updated every once in a while.

I think I will have a small school of ember tetras, neon tetras, and some kind of Pygmy cory (undecided on which one).

I currently have 30Watts, so it's low-light. Plants included 2 different Aponogeton, Anacharis (directly under one of my lamps), anubias nana, some baby java ferns, dwarf lily (which is looking a bit shabby), taiwan moss and java moss.
Substrate is Eco-Complete, and I dose with excel, though not highly.
Filtration is a Penguin 150, and I'll add another filter on the other side at some point. Maybe a Magnum HOT, or possibly just a little zoomed 501. I'll need it to be small at the entry point of the tank since I have a supplemental light back there. Here be the pics!

The tank (with shrimp tank in background--for another thread!)

Another angle: You can see the Indian almond leaves!

The Aponogeton Ulvaceous: Note the flower shoot! This thing has just shot up since I bought it.

The Pothos is just getting started:

And, one of my first residents (and yes, these were intentional!--and yes, I need to clean the glass!)

I'm going to prune the anacharis at some point. I'm not sure if it will make it long-term with the low light, but it seems pretty healthy.

I'm also planning on letting the ulvaceous flower, and I'll try to help it self-fertilize and produce seed-pods. It sounds like fun!

My nitrites are still high (but detoxed with prime for the snails), but ammonia is 0 and nitrate is creeping up. I hope to be able to get fish in about two weeks.

Great set-up. Looks wonderful!

Nice tank, although I don't like those leaves :P sorry. But looks great

That aponogeton is gorgeous!! Very jealous. I have aponogeton crispus, with not nearly as impressive curves. :p: your anacharis should do great in there... For trimming, if you cut from the top, it'll branch out... if you uproot, cut bottom & replant top, you'll keep the single stem look.

Also, corydoras pygmaeus aka Pygmy cories are more mid-water fish. You'll want hastatus (dwarf? Not sure the common name) or habrosus (dainty or salt&pepper).

I got one of those aponogeton ulvaceous bulbs about a month ago and it's been doing really well, too (also in low light conditions). Just about to have its first bloom. My bloodfin tetras in particular like to play around in the leaves - I hear they like to lay eggs on broad leaves like those. I imagine that if they ever did that the eggs would just roll right down the spiral to the ground :D I'm anxious to hear whether you have success with getting it to seed.
