My 3 Tanks

On my Cichlid tank i picked the red shale instead of pebbles - but its a real bear to clean. I am thinking of changing - What do you think would work best????

Change it to sand, i have sand in my tank and the ciclid tank at my LFS has a sand base and it looks very effective with the colours of the fish and the slte and rocks

Very nice looking African tank!

Update

90 Gallon Community - looks exactly like it did in the picture - lost the yellow colored Angel - It was a recent addition at the time of the picture and did not adjust well and died :(

35 Gallon Blood Parrots - both a little bigger and totally happy - Although about once every two months one of them has eggs on the inside of the fake hollow log and they get all weird while they wait for them Not to hatch.

55 African Tank - set up the same way
This tank was started with all very juvenile fish and sligthly overstocked. Its been up a year now.

- still thinking about going to sand or gravel but have not done that- As they grow up a few less fish also.
- Ended up with 3 male Kenyi's and we know thats not a good thing - one got killed and the other went back to live at "Eli's Tropical Fish" in Florham Park NJ.
- Colbalt Blue's - little agression here also - two met their end - two left -all seems ok but there is one real big one that might also make a trip to Eli's.
- 4 yellow labs doing fine - one is spawning - without success the first time and without my knowledge the second time - was cleaning the tank and found one live baby hiding - the rest probably became fish food. The baby "squirt" is 4 weeks old and living in a seperate 5 Gallon tank - eating crushed flake food and doing well (Picture posted - sorry best i could do - notice the fish compared to the size of the gravel in the tank)
- 1 Male Auratus - had 3 little ones to start all ended up being male - so that is why i am down to one.
- Corey Cat is still doing well

I know i probably did not do the best job of selecting species of fish up front - but was trying to go for alot of color. I work from home and this tank is in my home office and gives me tons of enjoyment and really gets the attention of visitors. The large Colbat Blue really deserves a bigger tank so i might just take him back. I have a great video clip of the tank in action but its 16Meg.
