So I went a built a stand for my 30g. I've never uploaded pics before so if this turns out horrific, bare with me.

It is constructed of 3/4" plywood with maple sheathing. I used poplar for the trim. There is a 3/4" mdf bottom shelf and a 3/4"mdf middle shelf(all covered in black formica) and a 3/4" poplar back for the middle shelf. I used 2/4's ripped in half for corner bracing (the brackets seen in the photos were simply for exacting alignment). The lid (or top) is 3/4" mdf covered in black formica (not shown) and wrapped with poplar trim.

The back of the middle shelf serves as additional bracing...in addition to the bottom shelf and the lid.

I still need to attach the door, and the lid although I kinda like it without the door...at least until I get a bunch of junk inside it.

I also have to mount my surge protector, interior light and pilot some wiring holes.

Oh, and that first pic was just for laughs :)

Nice work. Yep, I about blew my coffee all over when I saw the two tables!

Thanks for all your comments.

Yeah, I didn't overbuild it. It's 30g fer cryin out loud! 3/4" plywood placed vertically with the proper bracing could probably hold up a 100g at that height....but I wouldn't try it. LOL.

lol. Yea seams studry enough. GJ
