I've just discovered this forum so I'd thought I post a pic of my heavily planted 34g. I post the spec later if anyone's interested.

Thanks. It's 2 years old now. Here's the spec;

Tank -Juwel Rio 125 32" L x 20" H x 14" W - 34 US Gallons, 125 Litres

Water - pH 6.6, KH 3, GH 6, NO3 5 mg/l, PO4 0.1 mg/l - 25% weekly water change with 60:40 RO/tap

Lighting - High Output T8 Fluorescent 98 Watts total (3 Watts per Gallon) - mix of 3000K, 6700K and 7500K - 10 hour photoperiod (5 on 2 off 5 on)

CO2 -2 x Nutrafin units with DIY recipe - 20 to 25 mg/l

Substrate -1 to 3mm inert gravel with laterite and 25W heater cable on timer

Fertilisation - Dennerle S7, E15 and V30. Potassium Nitrate (KNO3) added weekly to get NO3 @ 5mg/l

Filtration - Juwel Compact H internal and Fluval 204 external - biological and mechanical only - no carbon, outputs modified to prevent CO2 loss

Fish - Display team - 28 Cardinal tetra, pair of Gold Rams
Maintenance crew - 2 SAE, 5 Oto, 7 Amano shrimp

Plants - 16 species at last count - too many to list at the moment!

I'd be happy to answer any quesitons. I'm re-aquascaping it soon because it is high-maintenance, I'll be going for a more "Nature" look rather than the "Dutch" look. The fast growing stem plants are taking up too much time pruning and re-planting. My wife is having our baby soon so I'll need all the time I can get!

Very nice and well tended. Have you been over to www.aquaticplantcentral.com? If you're into aquascaping or looking for ideas, they're a good resource as well.

Any plans of entering into AGA/ADA planted tank contests in the future?

Thanks. I may enter my tank once the I've re-aquscaped it into a more "nature" style layout. At the moment there's too many focal points and textures to stand a chance. There's not enough "flow".

Looks like tournament quality to me, but I do understand the "artistic" perfectionism! I have done most of my tanks with more "natural" scenes, because, as you stated, the Dutch Style is way too work intensive!
Great tank!
