My 3665 Gallon Lined Plywood Tank Build Log

Sitting here watching the 15 5-6" silver arowanas I bought tonight swimming in my 210. My motivation to get the big tank done. I'll probably sell half of them at 18" to recoup my initial money and pay for part of the tank.

I should be able to get the rest of the fish room cleared out this week, so construction should start next week. I was going to build out the room first then do the tank, but it makes more sense to do it all at the same time.

I am hosting our regional aquarium society meeting on March 28th, so I want to be well into construction by that date.

Pete, you did not forget to make some pictures right?
Nice to hear about your arowana collection, even better to see about them. ;-p

Cheers, enjoy them...

A member of our regional aquarium society had brought in about 90 wild caught from Columbia with a friend. He had planned to put them in his pond and grow them out, but his plans changed. I got the last 15 he had. Someone else who bought the rest of them before me put them all in a 10 gallon tank and killed them. People are so greedy sometimes.

On the agenda tonight and tomorrow night:

Make a list of supplies needed to plumb the 55 gallon wet/dry to the 210.
Finish the two pvc overflows and paint with black krylon fusion
Box up miscellaneous stuff in fish room and move it to garage
Take apart Z-Beam rack in fish room and move it to garage
Move remaining empty aquariums from fish room to garage
Sand where needed and paint canopy for 210
Build frame for dining room side of viewing window
Decide what to do with port babies
Top off tanks in garage
Clean 55 gallon wet/dry
