Thanks.. heh... but not everything is healthy at the moment. In my haste to add the emperor tetra's I let a case of Ich go unchecked and has spread to my cardinal tetra's. My UV sterilizer bulb is WAY past due for replacement so I ordered a new one today. In the mean time I"m treating for ich to slow its spread.
Usually my UV knocks Ich out pretty quickly.. but this bulb has been used for well over 3 years now contiunously. I actually had accidentally left it plugged in after I shut down the tank it was connected to... so its pretty much useless now.

Great tank, great thread--it's really amazing and inspirational to see the progression.
So you found that overdosing Excel really did help in your algae battles? I am considering doing this. My tank is on the edge where a really nice display and array of plants is being threatened by the blight that is algae.

I let the tank get ridiculously overgrown.. lol.... I am going to sit down and prune/reshape everything on tuesday now that I have enough plant mass to work with...
