I set everything up 2 days ago. my lighting is a tek 4x 39w t-5 ho fixture. filtration and circulation is 2 maxi jet 1200s, remora skimmer. there is more circulation from the overflow box and return pump from the sump. there are about of 55lbs of live rock and 40lbs of sand. i rearranged the rock for a few hours and i finally decided on this look. any comments, tips or critiques are appreciated.

the tank is still cycling and i am in need of test kits. anyone have a brand they recommend? i heard api makes bad sw test kits.

Lookin' good, nice layout plenty of places for the fish and other critters to hide in :).

I use API and haven't had a problem, they can be a bit difficult to read really accurately but good enough for me. Salifert are supposed to be the best but are more expensive. When it comes down to it everyone has there own opinion though.

A very nice start!

Nice set up well done:drool: I would use the SALIFERT for testing water parameters .Hope this helps best of luck.

looks good..but would look alot better with a colored background..either blue or black..you can use poster board..thats what i used ;) awesome! keep us posted!

I would recommend Salifert also, especially for Nitrate, Phosphates, Calcium, etc. Things that need to be checked the most.

The tank looks great- you're really off to a good start! The Tek lights are awesome too, I think you'll really like it. :)

Looks great, I have a 45 also and it's nice to see what others have done with there tanks. Look forward to seeing more photos as the tank progresses once you are complete with cycling.
