My 46G again

Nix the dojos. Your original plan is absolutely fine with your pH. I doubt that your angels, unless wild caught, will even notice.

angels are pretty adaptable. they will be able to thrive in your pH. the only reason you would need a lower pH is if you wanted to breed them.

the dojos are coldwater fish though, and they lik ehtir temps around the lower 70s to the mid 60s.

if you have one angel, you can easily up the number of both schools of tetra by two. then your tank will be set.

The bristlenose plecos will be fine in the 46. You can also have the cories too.The plecos will only reach around five inches each and they will take care of the algae in the tank. For this reason you should probably wait on the plecos until there is sufficient algae present in the tank which should take about eight weeks. The cories will eat any leftover food that the other fish do not eat. They are a great clean up crew. Depending on the ones that you get will depend on how many to get. I would suggest that you get at least three cories since they are very social little creatures and perfer to be in groups. The panda cories stay small and are really cute if you are looking for a suggestion.

My plecos will eat anything left in the tank. I caught the big boy in the 150 chewing on a piece of steak that the big Cat spit out the other day. It's a common misconception, one that I fell into in the past as well, that plecos subsist on algae alone.

Thanks a ton everyone I will go with the original plan then. I found one problem though I can't find any store carrying harlequins. So if anyone could give me a suggestion on really neat looking tight schooling fish that'd be very appreciated.
Thanks,
Sorry i ask a lot of questions

I have a ph of 8 and I keep both Bolivians and angels, and they're both triving. IMO you're fairly understocked, so you could put more rasboras in there if you like.

Thank you all very very much. I now have
2xBolivian Rams
1xGoldish Orangish Angel
5xAlbino Cories
10xHarlequin Rasboras(I found em finally)
Am I pretty much fully stocked or can I possibly get another school of a different species or add to the schools I already have? I extremely appreciate all of everyones help I don't think I'd be in this hobby without this site and everyones help
thanks again(sorry if i don't get back right away I'm having Com. problems)

I was going to suggest fewer rams, or at least taking care to get just 1 male...

As for other fish, maybe a 6-pack of black phantom tetras or maybe serpaes or even pristellas - anything that shoals well should be able to avoid some occasional aggressiveness by an angel or ram.

Hey
Thanks a ton for the posts. I think I just might add a few more rosb. instead of a new school. I have one more question (sorry) I started with 5 albino cories and now have 3. Each night there'd be one cory breathing very heavily and not moving during feeding time. I have lost two this way and tonight there is another that's doing the same thing, I also noticed the ones that died had a red stripe on there side, and the other had a ride line on the side of his mouth in a vertical postition, now this one has it right above his mouth. Is this some kind of parasite? Today I treated the tank for external parasites and the cory that's looking sick now had no sign of anything until now. If anything knows what this is or how to stop it from killing all the cories it'll be extremely appreciated if u could help.
Thanks hopefully for the second to last time

Hey
Sorry I'm bringing this thread up one more time. I think the problem with my cories was that my bolivian rams beet the crap out of them. I have one cory remaining the other died earlier today. This morning he was absolutely fine then about an hour ago he looked like hell he had all the red lines that looked like he was bit. So far the only agression in the tank is the rams beating on my cories. I'm not totally sure of this either. Paramters:
Ammonia=0ppm
Nitrite=0ppm
Nitrate=20ppm
Ph=8.0
So theres nothing wrong with my tank I think. So heres why I brought up the thread, I'm going to return my remaining cory. So i was wanting to add another angel (koi) and maybe 8 rummynose tetras. I still have my angel who's getting fairly plump 10 harlequins and 2 bolivian rams. Would it be okay to add another angel and those tetras or can i even do one or the other?
Thanks a ton this is the last question
