Hi! I haven't posted here in forever...here is an update...
Well disaster struck in my 50g last week! I come home from being away two days for Christmas, to find that my tank sprung a leak and flooded the place... There was only a few small pools of water that all the fish had retreated to...a bunch of Rummy Noses got stranded and were dead already, along with my GBR pair....totally deviated over losing my GBR's. :cry:
I managed to save 5 of my Red-Eye Tetras, 7 Rummy noses, My 2 Juliis (Thank god, If I had lost them and my GBRs I may have gone into shock), and only 1 Speckled cory. :cry: My plecos didn't make it either...
So I immediately went on a search for another tank. Well as it turns out, 50g Oceanics aren't your run of the mill tank and are special order....who would have thought that??:silly:
Out of sheer desperation I ended up at PetSmart. Turns out they have a 56g tank that shares the same footprint as the 50g Oceanic! Hooray! Yeah, but wait....they wonk just sell me the tank, I have to buy the hideous stand too....wtf? They want 299 for the 56g tank/stand combo...yeah, well I'm not paying that. Anyway to make an already long story short I ended up leaving with a 29g tank and stand for 150 and change...meh
So heres my down sized 50 to 29g...Not to shabby considering...
