Thanx everybody..... I really lucked out with the Angels. Its hard to find good ones around here lately. Theyre either deformed , or the fins are torn. They just float in the tanks. Mine are perfect and nosy. Theyre very active and inquisitive.
gnarly wood man! lol. i have the same, except i don't have the middle piece. they look even more real once a lil algae grows on them. and tough enough to stand up to a 9 inch oscar, hahaha!
Thanx BFM! Question....You ever have a problem with fish gettin stuck in them?I lost a Hi fin platy last week. Yesterday one of my balloon mollies got stuck in the larger piece.I was able to rescue her after pullin all 3 pieces out. I filled the ornaments with river rocks I bought at the $1 store. Hopefully that'll help.
when i had my albino rainbow shark in the tank that has the gnarly wood he would constantly hide vertically, head down, in the top of the tallest piece and poke his head out and give me the evil eye, lol.. that was when he was about half the size he is now (and he's now at least 5 inches). when i did water changes i had to be certain he was out of his hidey hole first! then when i got my paratilapia polleni (black diamond cichlid) he took to hanging out in the hole in the top until he got too big. never had a fish get stuck or trapped though, but the four fish i have in the tank with those 'wood' pieces range from 5 inches up to 9 (including tail, so TL), so no worries on anyone venturing in and getting trapped.
the stump you have on the right, what i did was shove the base of a huge plastic plant in there, and the tall one i wrapped another big plastic plant around. here's what my tank (55 gal) looks like right now (i really have to do something about that eyesore of a blue rena intake..... lol):
