My 6.6g L :D river bed tank :)

I did the math, and 24.5x10x9=2205 divided by 231=9.54g tank, so you have 3 more gallons to work with than you thought :)

Are you sure frogs, DPs and shrimp will work out? :lipssealedsmilie:

I found that 6.6 for sale on www.fish.com. I think that would make the perfect betta tank, or for a small group of fast swimmers like danios.

NO danios in a 6.6g.

I so love that tank. I am gonna get one! Would be a great little tank for shrimp and snails. Do you think it would be ok to add a couple guppies too? 1 male 2 female maybe (yes I understand the overstocking issue, I already have plans to deal with fry)

(sorry to for hijacking the thread.. that is an AWESOME tank though. It looks so much bigger than 6.6 gallons! 2 feet long though.. wow I don't know where I could put it. I WILL FIND A PLACE!)

lol great to hear your excited about this tank the same as i am.

im sure 3 guppies would be fine :)

on another note i put my puffer in and he did great i bought two more thinking 3 would be fine but one of the two is very agressive and is attaking shrimp and the other puffers even my bold one...

so im taking him back tomarrow.

plan:

2 dwarf puffers (check)

ghost shrimp (check)
amino shrimp (check)
red cherry shrimp (waiting on Mg)

diy co2 (need some new parts and a reactor idea)
live plants (waiting on Mg)
new light (after i get plants most likely)

EDIT: meany puff just ate a shrimp eye and im turning off the light hes going back asap tomarrow

Nice setups buddy, you'll really have fun once you upgrade to live plants! =)

I have this tank. I ordered it from www.fish.com. It does seem larger than 6.6 gallons because of the length of the tank. My husband wants to get a Betta and this tank is perfect. There was a post on this thread that you couldn't keep danios in a 6.6 tank. I think normally that would be true but with the length of this tank I think 4 or 5 of them would do just fine, provided they were the only occupants. The filter that came with the tank isn't the best, but you could easily upgrade.

well said, im glad you got one!

the only thing that is a bit sucky is that if you wanna stick your arm in it you have to take off the light and then the plastic thing. but oh well i love the way it looks.

on another note.

im getting ready to take that puffer back i dont have access to good aquarium plants but petsmart has those ones in the plastic tubes im thinking of pickiing up one of those.

It seems that it would be easy to upgrade to a better light as well. With the 24 inch length at least the fish can swim!

GUYS! i just got this great idea!

i wanna do like a mini cichlid tank with the white sand and the stacked rock no plants kinda like a fresh water reef.

im gunna look for sand and rock wile im out today i cant wait..

if i dont find the white sand ... do you guys know where i can get it... im using pool filter sand and i dont think it will give me the look im going for with the reef inspiration

thank you :D
