This is where I am now. Got the driftwood in (got the nice bacteria fuzz going on it). Few plants (crypts and anubius) that I have still not planted yet. Waiting for the driftwood to clear up before I go arrange things more. I'm trying to do a low tech planted tank. Using a single 54watt T5-HO, I could run both lights but I'm trying to stay away from co2. Need to pick out a few more low light plants to get in there.

I also made a few slate caves to add in there.

Need to grab some more blast sand so I can hide the caves a tad.

In the end, this tank will house 4 Angelfish, quite a few Von Rio Tetras, 6 Clown Loaches and 5-6 Otocinclus (having trouble finding them local). I might put a few other fish in, but not sure.

Nice start.

Really nice! Just a suggestion though....needs a background! Tape some black posterboard on there....costs like 3 bucks, takes 5 minutes and looks great!

What kind of filter are you running? Frankly, I'd recommend adding a second filter, like a canister filter, to help improve flow. Plus, if something goes wrong with one filter, you have another taking care of the tank. I have a HOB rated at 70 gallons and a canister at 90 or 100 or something on my 55.

Thanks..

The tank used to have a painted back (painted it blue), but I scraped the paint off and have not decided if I want to do blue or black this time.

The filter is some Tetra Whisper HOB. I had a 2nd filter in (smaller sized) but had to use it on a hospital tank. I've been wanting to get a Ehiem 2213, but just never get around to doing so. I'll prob add another Tetra HOB to it in the next few weeks.

If you're going to get another HOB, don't waste time/money on a Tetra. Spend the little bit extra and get yourself AC 110, AC 70 or C4. AC 110 is best, because it should be able to handle your 75 on its own, but the AC 70 and C4 are both nice filters. Although, if you're going to try to have shrimp in your tank, the C4 isn't as nice, because it's harder to get them out. It's also not quite as versatile as the AC series filters.

Amazon Prime doesn't alter pricing, just gives free 2 day shipping, if that matters to your decision making process. Regular shipping is still something like 3-5 business days or so. I've had it for a few years now. I leave one of my browsers at home logged in to it, partially for my convenience, partially for my wife's. She still insists on using a different browser window to look at stuff on Amazon, and I don't see pricing differences between what she pulls up and what I pull up.

Yeah, they're both Prime eligible. I'm just saying that the free super saver shipping isn't that bad, either. Then again, I could be misremembering the delivery time frames, since it's been a few years since I haven't had Prime.
