I blame my blue green algae, 100% on the (insert a long string of expletives) DRAGON BALL MOSS that I got from ebay.
that THEIF sold me a thimble size piece of filter media with a pea sized piece of what MIGHT have been moss... that hardly looked green or alive. for 10 bucks plus shipping!!! the photo made it look like a huge portion. I put it in my tank still in the media and nothing happened for weeks. it looked like it was starting to die. finally I took it out out of the media and stuck it by a rock, sort of wedged with a little substrate, and within a week, POW bga spreading from right there.
I wish I could sue the guy for damages. lol
he even had the balls to email me and ask me to leave him good feedback! I replied he had sent me a non aquatic moss, and had misrepresented both that, and the glass co2 diffusers that were "perfect for DIY CO2"... which are only useful for pressurized co2... and he argues with me. made me so mad.
lesson learned: DO NOT BUY DRAGON BALL MOSS.
