Two angelfish both have tight fins, top and bottom, look like sticks with no feathered fin, and tail is contracted too, off food, hiding in bushes and not sticking with the family.
Would normally take a pic but they're in the dark

Does anyone know these symptoms?
I dont want to just assume they have caught an intestinal disease from the dwarf gouramis.
Lost 3 DG after purchasing a couple of weeks ago.

I dont mind if you have a shot in the dark
I am waiting for approval at the angelfish forum, its not instant, so thats doesn't help the situation.

Thanks
P.S I had the ammonia spike we werew expecting, it went up to 2. and i did as many water changes as I could until it dropped down to .25, now its 0. I hope it did not permanently harm them :(

Would the teatree oil and epsom salt be of value?
I just noticed my gold rams have tiny white spots just starting.
NOW I'm much more concerned and will need to treat the whole tank again, 4ftx2ftx20in
310 litres (there should be a volume converter on the side here.lol)

I have just had a stressful week getting all the tanks ammonia and ph back to normal. Not really sure its stable yet, adding stuff thats going to affect the bio filter, is really going to be detrimental. Obviously the fish are already stressed!

make sure your not overfeeding and that your filter system is not over due or over dirty and need cleaning. A spike that high usually means something is dead-dieing or rotting.

Personally I never had any luck but with two paired dominant angles even in a 120 tank. They just don't like their own kind handing around after they are paired up. My pair of Golden Veils although they get along with all other fish killed my other Marbles and Veils that were not paired systematically over time, now they are laying eggs.

If there fins look like they have been cut by scissors then they are probubly being bitten off, if they are tattered they may have rot. Usually when a couple fish hide and the rest are looking fine in the open, it usually means they are being perused and harassed.

Thank you.
I moved the paired adults into a breeding tank. The two sick small ones into their own tank, and theres 5 smallish ones in with other gouramis etc.
I have one tiny angel who thinks its the boss of all of them- fearless that one.
Apart from the large breeders there is one who is next biggest, I'd say was bullying. So will be interesting to see what its like now the dynamics have changed.

I did a tonne of water changes and now the amm is 0 again.
Had been hesitant about cleaning the filtration as I thought it would upset the beneficial bacteria.
Tank has a 6 inch section of bio balls, filter pads and pump.
Yeah think I was over feeding... the angels talked me into it!

What type of water movement do you have, Angels are turbulence sensitive fish, is it densely planted, live or plastic, angels tend to be less stressed in densely planted environments, all these could be factors in clamped fins

Its fairly planted, except gouramis keep eating plants.
It has good filtration and top of water good agitation but midway, minimal movement.
Had gouramis no.6 cark it today, bought 5 and the first one died first night, look like they have swollen bellys. I am treating the tank with angels and gouramis and rams for white spot.
I see one of the angels has had his tail fin nipped, the one that hides.
I'm trying to breed the pair in a corner tank, but I think its too small for them, they are doing the up and down glass thing, like they want to get out.
They wont breed if they're not happy there will they?
but they face off and lock mouths.
